- Identity and Access Management Initiative (IAM)
The Identity and Access Management Initiative (IAM), formerly the Secure Identity
Management Infrastructure (SIMI), is a policy and technology framework that will
enable online transactions between the University and members of the University
community, and between the University and other institutions such that institutional
data is protected from unauthorized access and personal privacy is maintained.
Supported by broad-based campus participation, IAM is intended to guide each campus
in the development and deployment of a set of identity management tools. In
addition, IAM will establish policy bodies composed of academic, administrative
and technology leaders from the campuses and the Office of the Chancellor,
charged with coordinating the development of system-wide identity management
policy and practice.
